History of Kingdom Breakthrough Miracle Centre
It was on the 20th December 2018 that a correspondence came from the PAWI North East District Office stating that a decision was made that Rev. Gentle was to resign effective the first day of January 2019. That was the basis of the stirring of what is today Kingdom Breakthrough Miracle Centre.
With the fervor of God burning in his soul and encouragement from his classmates he made the decision, “I guess I’ll have to look for a place to begin ministry.” Going independent was not something he desired or envisaged. The search began and he started looking around Arima for a place. During that period he received a call from one of his nephews that there was a vacant building in Arima which the VAT office once occupied. Somewhere around the 27th of December, 2018, contact was made and a time set up to view the building. A decision was made there and then that we were interested in the second floor of the property located at #6 Prince Street, Arima.
Beginning with zero finances an investment was made and the building secured for the first three months of the year. The keys to that building was handed over on Wednesday 2nd January 2019. The place was a horrid mess as the former tenants chose to move out and leave unwanted stuff behind. An announcement was made as to the location of the new building. No one was called but the people had a mind to work. And work we did. We saw people and didn’t even know how they found out or knew we were there. People came and gave of their time, service, energy, effort and finances to assist in a vision that even they didn’t clearly know, but felt that somehow God was a part of this.
This first two days saw the dismantling of cubicles and removal of debris. By day three a massive cleanup project began. This was followed by the building of a platform and the painting of the room. Air conditioning was acquired. Work went on night and day and finally the place was in readiness for service.
On Sunday 6th January 2019 the first Service began. What to expect was anybody’s guess. We thought to ourselves probably about thirty – forty persons may show up. The record has it ninety-five persons were present at that first service. We worshipped God with all our hearts. Pastor preached a sermon on what fasting does. Prayer and fast ensued and prayer meetings were held morning and evening every day, for the next two weeks.
The second Sunday service blew our minds. There was not enough room for persons to sit. People were standing. There were one hundred and ninety-five persons that Sunday and the presence of God was evident. One person commented, “I can feel the hunger of the people gathered here.” We were hungry for God and His presence. By the third Sunday we recorded two hundred and sixteen persons in attendance at the service.
That is when we knew that the place we started in was too small and we needed to get another place.
Our pastor Rev. Phillip Gentle, the man that he is, began his search for a bigger place. God was blowing our minds and he was determined to make preparations for it. Me: “But we just reach. Give the people some time to breathe.” Him: “Chris, the Lord showed me a vision, I see a place, and I think we should get.” By now you know if Phillip Gentle sets his mind on something for God, there is no stopping him. He personally secured the second property sometime in February with a targeted time to move in April.
Meanwhile, people kept asking, “When would Deliverance start?” History has it that Deliverance would begin on the first Wednesday in the month of February, with approximately 45 persons in attendance. It was then moved by the following week to Tuesdays. Deliverance service has since grown to an average attendance of fifty-two persons. Things were happening fast and furious, at a pace that we ourselves had to try and play catch-up. We had to take the time to put some structure in place for forward movement but God was continuously blowing our minds.
Early March Phillip Gentle: “I need to start building the platform.” Me: “Phillip, the month now start, we target to move in April, give yourself a break.” Phillip Gentle: platform started anyway. Every day something new would be done. Money not available yet but he went on by faith.
It seems as though God was taking us on a journey. We secured the new place. It was not yet completed and we were working with a targeted move date of April 1st. Well that must have been an April fool’s joke, because news came to us by our then Landlord that she had gotten an offer for the entire building and she began to ask if we would consider moving earlier. She suggested the 13th of March. Consideration was given and we set the date to move as the 17th of March after our morning service. But fate would have it that when persons came for morning prayer on Thursday 14th March they walked in to realize that the wall to the sanctuary was broken into, there was dust everywhere on our newly bought chairs, table, fans and water cooler. It was as though God was teaching us that we had to be prepared to pick up and move even before the time we have set for ourselves. So Saturday 16th March we packed up and moved to this new location. God has been gracious beyond measure. The people of God gave. People were just coming and saying “the Lord told me to bless you all,” with this, or that, or the other. We also have a pastor who has mastered the art of pushing us beyond the place we have set for ourselves.
Today what you see is an indication that we serve a great God, one who has promised us that He is able to do more that we can imagine. God is not only interested in buildings and what you see. But He has done so much for us we cannot tell it all.
Mrs. Charmaine Gentle.
